4 wheel steering

The GM Trucks that had Quadrasteer were all extended cab shortbox 1500's or lighter duty crew cab 2500's built between 2002 and 2005. (2500's had 8 lug hubs, but sub 8600 GVW IIRC) They also sold 1500 and 2500 Suburbans with Quadrasteer.

We had a 2500 pickup with the 4ws setup where I worked for several years. It got the wee beat out of it and never gave us any problems. It was AWESOME to pull a trailer with, as you could back into places a normal truck had no chance of getting to. Also super easy to put into a tight parking spot.
I didn't see that much difference on the highway...

I know the GM development guys had one with a little lift and 33's that they took down to Tellico a time or three. I don't think they ever broke the rear axle or steering... That truck was a bit beat up by the time they scrapped it out, but so far as I know, the 4ws had no issues...

Pretty short demonstration video. As mentioned, they all had cab clearance lights and marker lights on the slightly flared fenders, ahead of and behind the rear tire.

One of the rigs in our trail group has rear steer on his Bronco: it usually gets him into more trouble than out. Though, I have to admit, the last trip through Charleau Gap the Bronco blew out the stock power steering pump. As the rear steer is a separate circuit, he was able to rear steer the rest of the way out to the trailer. He does not drive it on the street .
