4Runner Softopper window tint question

Ok, so I didn't pull the backing from the weatherstipping I just bolted it down JUST in case - thanks jason for the advice.

I may have been unclear earlier, think maybe when I ordered mine they sent the rails set up different. I took the backing off but the weather stripping wasn't tacky. So to clear it up I had the aluminum soft top rails with the weather stripping sticking to the under side of the aluminum rail. The bottom of the weather stripping on mine was not tacky but I noticed the first time I took the soft top off, the weather stripping natural was a little sticky to the paint. It didn't take more than a slight pressure rolling the whole rail to the side to dis-lodge that. Hope that cleared it up.

The soft top looks great!

Jeff, the top looks great. Man I really love the blue 4Runners. I really want a soft top, so I'm gonna have to re-evaluate my priorities and see if I can swing one sooner rather than later. At one time, I had a Kayline, but did not really like the fit of it. Also had a bikini top, but I don't park in the garage and it rains too much here for that.

I just sent a PM on the tan Can Back. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to evaluate how well the tan will match my gold truck. I think it might work with my stripes or it will really clash.
My Kayline is on it's last legs. The zippers in the rear refuse to zip up and I have tried adjusting them with pliers and all the tricks I could find on the net. I might go to an upholstery shop and see if then can take out the zippers and add HD velcro. I also wouldn't mind having velcro with some pull tabs on the back corners to help get them on.

For the first time in over 2 years, I washed the truck - so I could take a few pics with it looking sorta nice with the new top:

Lovin it so far - haven't been on the freeway with the sides rolled down yet, but stll - been around 50 or so on the surface streets with no flapping or anything annoying. I'm starting to see what everyone was talking about with it being one of the best creature-features there is!
