Well, after 6 years and 30 thousand miles all over the western US and Canada, parenthood (x2) and the accompaning lifestyle change has led us to the conclusion that we should sell our beloved truck. This has been an amazing vehicle, taking us to obsure points in Kanasis Country, Death Valley, Lost Forest, The Pasaytin, The White Clouds, City of Rocks, Black Velvet Canyon, The Steens, Painted Desert, Okanogan, Revelstoke, The Purcells, The Great Salt Lake, Moab, Hyalite, etc., etc. We literally designed our wedding and honey moon around our truck.

The Truck is a 1997 F250 diesel 4x4 with a service body with 6 large lockable lockers. The truck has been modified with a 3 inch lift, larger tires, front lockers, brush guard, Banks intake and transmission upgrade, multidisk stero, etc., etc. There are 87000 miles on the truck.

The camper is 1995, service body specific, so the propane and batteris are all contained in the service body lockers. The camper has been well maintained with recent replacement of the hydaulic pump and riser arms. I als orefined the wood work a few years ago. There is a cassette toilet, although we leave it in the basement in favor of the storage space.

I don;t really know what else to say, but here is a link to pictures: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!...or airstream. The babies will know the road.

It'd be great to see the pictures so I could encourage Dave, but then I'd have to give up my long-held dream of being the last person not to have a Facebook account. :sombrero:

Dude, we are vying for the same position.

FWIW, I clicked the link and was able to see pictures. Maybe I am signed in as my kid, or it lets non-Facebookers see a little bit, or something. Point I am trying to make is that I can see this really cool rig without being a Facebook member.

EDIT: Oops, I see that I am signed in as my kid. Enjoy the pic anyway. :sombrero:

No way, I've been Not-facebooking way longer than anybody else.

I'm not a Ford expert and I can't tell from the two pics posted here: Is that a Supercab? And if so, does that include one of the half-doors like the chevy's do, or is it just extra space behind the front seats?

No doors, just space behind the seat.

I saw this rig Thursday night. It's a fine example of what it is, and the seller is outstanding to work with. Both camper and truck are, while not concours, in pretty nice shape, The camper goes up, down, in and out without a hitch, and the compartments on the service body are a handy thing. The setup is close to one-of-a-kind, so if you're convinced that an cabover Alaskan camper on a service body diesel is what you need, you might want to spring into action.

The only important drawback is the one that's freakin' obvious . . . this is one large rig that is too big fit some people's needs. It's a longbed extended cab F-250, which means about 20 feet of pretty wide, high truck with considerable weight and a big turning circle. As I say, it is what it is . . . and if you can make use of something this size, this one is worth looking into.

I can perhaps answer questions if you have any.

Hello,

to answer the question,

It is an extended/super/long cab. What does that mean. Two doors and a back jumpseat that theoretically can hold three adults. I put two mountain bikes, plus a road bike back there usually. Can't be getting my bikes dusty.

Thanks,

Spencer
