Abandoned/derelict sites

Here is a mostly abandoned place I'd like to go and see: "Fordlandia" in Brasil.

Fordlândia ("Ford-land") is a now-abandoned, prefabricated industrial town established in the Amazon Rainforest in 1928 by American industrialist Henry Ford for the purpose of securing a source of cultivated rubber for the automobile manufacturing operations of the Ford Motor Company in the United States.

Henry Ford's endeavor ended in failure of a legendary degree.

The roads out there are pretty rough though...

Just here...
Cant wait to see the rest of your photos from that place Viggen!

Sounds pretty awesome that you got to meet the owner and he let you in. That might be a relationship I'd work on.

Im working on the photos right now. I just got some of my film photos back from my trip to Colorado a couple weeks ago. Working on getting those up right now. Nothing beats the look and "feel" of a film shot.

That looks lie a neat place to visit! Ford had a couple places similar here in the Upper Peninsula; Alberta and Pequaming, Michigan. Some of the places have been reused and some is long gone. Its the sawmills where Henry got some of the wood for his products.

Not exactly an abandoned or derelict site, but I thought it was pretty cool.

And something that is more of a derelict site, just about another mile down the road.
