Adventure Silvy's Build Thread

Crap! Didn't mean to blow your cover haha! Thanks to builds like yours and @Barb The Yeti I'm pretty convinced I'll be going with a set of King coilovers and 34s or 35s once the money is there. I can always count on the Expo crew to give me new ways to spend my money haha.

You mentioned before you have 3.73 gears in your truck, was that a factory option for your year or have you upgraded them?

I'd love to see more of what you've done to your truck and of course adventures you've taken it on. Thanks!

Glad to see that I’m not the only 2WD guy here! Just picked up my newest project (‘14 Ram 1500) and love this thread for ideas!

Hey, as long as you're happy thats all that matters! I've gone some many places with 2wd and i think with still having a payment on my truck it's saved my butt a few times. You'll get stuck here and there just make sure to have some gear to shovel you out. I've found the only demoralizing factor with 2wd is when your copilot laugh's their butt off because you've gotten stuck in something that looks solid on flat ground.

I love full size builds, and so far i haven't found a better place to find ideas so keep your eyes out!

Well said, Luke! It’s all about getting out there to explore.

A photo of one of those times I bit off more than I could chew with 2wd.

The lake was frozen solid, I ended up having to break the ice with a shovel. It was only 2 inches deep but man was it a pain.

This photo was taken in June lake area off of the 395.

Times have changed, and I noticed that I had never posted about my switch pros. So far, this has been the best modification I’ve done to the truck. The features, the installation, the cleanliness, and the safety factor have all contributed to my thoughts on this. I consider myself proficient at wiring and the install went smoothly, if you can read, and you’ve done a hair of wiring in your past, you’ve got it. As mentioned before I’ve got a heck of a lot of light, and I needed some way to wire that cleanly, and safely. I think when I added the rack I decided it was time to ditch the traditional relay setup.

Here are the photos from the install. Feel free to ask any questions I should be able to answer them as I’ve had the product for quite some time.

Great pics, Silvy! I gotta say, this is quickly becoming one of my top build threads. Very well done build, and also something about the 2WD brotherhood. I’m looking forward to really starting my build when work slows down a bit. Keep the ideas and updates coming!

Installed the baja kits upper arms last night, the install took 3ish hours due to misplaced tools but was easy once I had everything!

The finish of these upper arms are gorgeous, the components are beyond quality.

I fudged the alignment but it didn’t stop me from testing it, and it is amazing. Such an upgrade from just coilovers, and it went from a nice ride to feeling like a glider.
