Will do. Planned to rotate at this oil change (next week or 2), so right on track! :) Glad I saw the wear before the rotation! :Wow1:

I don't even own a mitsi and from seeing the near daily new posts whining about this rig and another issue, I will never own one.

Like any other vehicle if they're maintained properly they're great. The problems come when folks just put gas in them and maybe occasionally change the oil, without much else. Being a mechanic at a dealership I see a lot of newer and "nicer" vehicles with way bigger problems than my Montero has.

Really? because a previously poorly maintained one with 245,000 miles on it is having fairly minor issues?

These are really stout vehicles. Mitsu SUVS are excellent and for the price untouchable.

Really.... It was the new post feed being filled with her complaints on the platform in multiple threads.

I see the support from many of y'all for the vehicles now and offered my help for her issues.

The uphill battle begins
Well back on task.... left the sport with the shop. The x employee who worked on my water pump replacement (warrenty).... apparently screwed up near every car he touched. The owner is looking at the sport personally to see just how much damage was done by this guy.

Anyhow since I had to leave it, I told him to give the suspension a once over to see what the issue might be. I mentioned the bearings and while it was on the lift, he grabbed the drivers side tire and gave it a good wobble tug. There was a clunky pop... thought the tires seemed a bit more roary the past week. Even a bit exaggerated in turns... signs of bearing failure... so he confirmed it was bad. The passenger side is not as bad but it had excessive movement.

Asked him to verify the condition of the control arms, ball joints, tierods, idler arm... might as well while it's apart. He recommends to replace the shocks as well.

Strangely enough once was up in the air I noticed it seemed to be less a cupping issue and more what the picture on this poster showed.

High speed feathering... hmmm... sway bars... those were the bushings I felt were in the worst condition and were on the list to replace soon.
