Super old and random, but what strut mounts did you use? I got some for the Tundra and they dont fit, figure it needs Tacoma strut mounts. Was going to talk to Toytec tomorrow but figured Id ask before. Thanks and love the truck.

You just need the isolators for a 1st Gen Tacoma.

I bought them from Napa...don't have the part number handy. You can reuse them from your existing struts too if you can get them apart. I couldn't.

Almost 7 weeks ago,I ordered a new canopy. Our existing one was okay...but it didn't seal perfectly and lacked interior space for storage and sleeping.
Shopped around. Looked at ARE, Snugtop, Leer, and a local custom manufacturer. Eventually we settled on a Leer DCC wedge. Optioned it with dual rear doors, side doors, headliner, and a rack.
Well it finally came in and we are quite excited.
Tons of space inside. Started working up a cut list for a sleep platform. That will be next weekend's project.

Beautiful topper.

If you do not mind my asking, what does something like that cost?

Great rig you have.
Thanks!
They're pretty proud of them. As it sits, it cost $3100. I can't remember what the base cost was but the high rise wedge and dual rear doors drove it higher. I didn't option it very heavily either. They wanted another $80 for a single interior light. I'm doing the interior lighting myself for much less.

So part of the build out will be fold down tables on door. I bought a pair of lights to illuminate the tables. Made up some mounting brackets out of extruded aluminum channel. Have 18/2 cable coming in tomorrow to hook them up.

That's not too bad considering the size and quality of the build. Typically you just can't find one with the raised design. That one is like the size of the old Callens.

Yeah, LED lighting is fun.

Having an aluminum frame topper has worked out very well for me.

Great vehicle you have there.

Got the lights wired in this evening. These cast the prefect amount of light for my use. Not bad for $15!

Spent the last couple weeks in a marathon build out of the bed. With a trip coming up this last weekend,I needed to pull this thing together post haste. Built a table into the doors for our stove. There's five compartments under the sleep platform for organizing our crap...I mean gear.

Back in the winter, we did a lot of snow wheeling. I quickly discovered that LED lights were terrible for snow activities. They just don't get hot enough to stay clear.
Just had the opportunity to replace my 24" bar with a pair of halogen IPF lights

Nice work on the topper. Love the lights on the door. Might have to steal this idea.

Why I won't do LED headlights that everyone keeps doing. I suppose they must never show wheel lol.

Here's what I got if you're interested:

Wish they came in a warm white but you get what you pay for.

Totally agree on the headlights. I did the LED switch and the output is fantastic...unless you're in snow. Probably going to do an hid retrofit before winter.

Wow not a bad price for how bright they look. Looks like there is a switch on it too. You can always wrap the lens with yellow tape or yellow tint film.

Good point. Yeah, they have a pushbutton switch on one end and are plenty bright for a work light
