do you have a write up of your HID conversion somewhere?

Hoping to see this as well since I haven't been able to find any true HID conversions for under $500. I've seen some of the fake "ricer" kits but had no idea what they would actually look like.

I just ordered new headlight assemblies for my Suburban so I'd love to HID them at the same time!

Sorry, have not done any writeup as it was really very simple to do. Literally a plug n play conversion. The HID bulb was made to the same standards as the factory mount, so that just twisted into place. Then you plugged the factory harness into the harness with the HID ballast. Then just plug the lead from the ballast into the HID bulb and slide the ballast down into a hiding place. That easy.

The "ricer" look you refer to in the kits is actually the temperature color of the kit. The higher the number, the bluer the color of the lights. The lower the color, the closer you get to yellow / regular halogen color. I put a set of 3000K lights in my fog lights, and they are a very intense amber, with 5000K in my low beams, which is a very pure white. With my low beams on, my Hella 550s are almost insignificant!

I got mine from an eBay seller named HIDGate, who I do not think is on there any longer, but you may still be able to order from them by dropping them an email at payment@hid-light.com and requesting an access password, or just shop around on eBay. I am very happy with mine, and there are lots of happy customers of their on z71tahoe-suburban.
