That motor was one of the things that swayed me to my trooper. The Monty motor seemed very involved to do anything. Once done, though, the long interval between now and having to get in there again is a plus. All reports have it being a motor worth doing what you're doing, too.
Everything is a trade-off, tho. I knew getting into my trooper that it was going to be an oil burner, which it is, but other than having to de-gunk everything every 8k-10k and keep the oil topped off it seems to do just fine. Every motor has its "quirks" haha!
Definitely prayin for no busted knuckles, headaches or problem fasteners! There seem to be a lot of great, knowledgable Monty folks here on the expo, too.
Have to say that just like you, i found my jeep very easy to work on, but then again. I haven't HAD to work on my trooper at all yet. Hope your monty is the same way! Keep updating with your progress.
