At the last minute on Saturday I found out that I had to be in La Jolla at 6:30 PM on Sunday. What better way to get there than a "direct" route through Fish Creek Wash to Sandstone Canyon……

The "direct" route:p

I hope folks who aren't from Socal realize that wasn't the direct route:26_16_2:

I can only hope your visit to La Jolla had something to do with fine dinning. Some of San Diego's finest restaurants are in La Jolla.

Thanks for sharing those fantastic pictures:)

I could have driven only 80 miles one-way to get where I actually needed to go. Somehow I felt that getting up at 5 AM and driving 360 miles to get to La Jolla was a better route! :smiley_drive:

This canyon route has been on my to-do list forever :jump:

Jim, i love those canyon shots! Breath-taking.

Next time you head out there, i'd love to go. I've never been through there and it would be nice to have a guide!

Sure! I would love to plan for a second trip with more time as I was a little rushed for this trip.
I seriously considered coming in from highway S-2 and decided I did not want to do that alone.

(Wish I had hooked up with you for the MDTT trip in the Cleveland NF)

Love the pics! We just don't have that kind of terrain up here - just lots of bush and trees. Makes me want to drive down south even more ;)
