Anza~Borrego...Last Minute Day Trip Sun. 1-13-'08

I was chatting with ...."TheRoadie"......last night and we are talking about heading out to..........

Anza~Borrego this Sunday ........... 1-13-2008 .

We are talking about meeting up in Ramona Sunday morning at McDonalds for a quick departure. At least they have better coffee now!:coffeedrink: :ylsmoke: I will post the meet up time later today when I hear from TheRoadie.

We now have a Firm meet up time of 10AM at the Ramona McDonalds.....per "TheRoadie". His friend can't make it until 10am.

If anyone else would like to head out earlier for more exploring and meet up with Roadie a little later on the trail......send me a PM tonight. Otherwise I may just sleep in....(ho hum!) ....and meet Roadie at 10am. ....yawn!

Then heading up through Julian and down to Banner to start at the Oriflamme Trail.

Once out of Oriflamme.....we hit the S2.......then on to Canyon Sin Nombre.....and on to the del Diablo and the Drop Off.

Then on to Fish Creek. Maybe Sandstone Canyon if there is time.

Another time we would like to do this as a two day trip with an overnight. But this is what's working this weekend.

Be sure to top off your gas tank in Ramona. There is more gas in Santa Ysabel and one in Julian but a gallon will cost you more than an egg mcmuffin!

I like this idea. I think we should do the exact same route you're planning (Oriflamme, etc.) with an overnight at Fish Creek Campground.

I've got a motorcycle trip planned for Sunday otherwise I'd join you.

You guys know I'd be there BUT... the ExPo Death Valley adventure begins thursday for me so I have LOTS of prep to do... and I'm hoping UPS brings my bumper from CBI tomorrow.. SO, I cannot make it this time.

I'm waiting to hear from "TheRoadie" regarding a meet up time in Ramona. He is trying to get his friend to meet earlier that 10am.

I've considered having two meet up times........

One with me at say 8 to 8:30am

And one with TheRoadie at 10am.

Then we can meet up along the way since I will be stopping for a sandwich in AB anyway.

I'll post up the meet up time in the first post when we firm it up.

While we wait for Roadie.....we can explore the area......and whoever wants to test their skills can head over to Rodriguez Canyon and play in da boulders!


If nobody wants to head out early.....I may just sleep in and meet TheRoadie at 10am.

TheRoadie.....his friend Greg and the SWR headed out to Anza~Borrego for a day of adventure.

We met in Ramona and left by 10am.

Did.....Oriflamme.....Canyon Sin Nobre.....Seco Del Diablo through the Drop Off and onto Fish Creek. Including Sandstone Canyon. We made it out to Split Mtn. Road by 5PM.
