Just got my ARB E-Z Tire Deflator from Sierra Expeditions..Thanks Wil for another great product!

Boy does this tire deflator mean business! I aired down all 4 of my tires in less than 7 minutes (35 to 15 psi). I first saw this deflator in action in CO. I watch durangodds air down his tires in minutes.......My Sun Performance, Air Deflators were not getting the job done!.......After a while...they started to stick to each other and that's when i called FlyingWil up to send me the ARB deflator......Last weekend....Up at the trailhead........Their was many other 4wheelers wondering what i had airing down my tires!.....I even showed a guy how to used it and off he went!....He was sold after that......using the back of his tire gauage to air down his tires gotten very old after the ARB deflator demo!

After doing a little googling on the product, I came across an FJ cruiser owner's video review of the product:

Definitely convinced me as well, I like the fact that it removes the core, but also that there isn't a way for it to pop out and get lost in the dirt!

Just picked one up myself, thanks for the thread tip:26_7_2: I was expecting it to be much more expensive like some of the other separate deflaters on the market.

I bought my Stauns a few months before I started hearing about the ARB unit. I really wish I'd waited and picked one of these up instead.

How would this be better than the Stauns?

Does it deflate faster?

I'm thinking of ordering the Stauns as you can set the deflators to the desired PSI and lock it in.....then when you want to deflate, just unscrew the cap, screw on the deflator then move to the next tire.

This unit looks like I'd have to screw it on, stare at the guage til it got to the desired PSI, then screw the stem back in before moving to the next tire.

I don't know the speed of the Stauns (Im sure my big tires won't help) but I'm picturing just unscrew cap, screw on deflator, move to next tire, repeat 4x. By the time I got the 4th deflator on, I could go back to the first tire and unscrew it - so just 2 laps around the truck...

I have the Stauns and it is pretty convenient to just "set it and forget it", but here is the problem that I ran into and still a little bit nervous about. The way you "lock" them in place is just tightening one nut onto the other. You can't really get them good and tight I always have to re-tighten them. Which always makes me wonder if they are still set correctly.

The other issue I have is they are set at one psi rating and to adjust them you have to set all four of them over again which can be a pain (just using your spare).

Alright now that I have told you my negatives for the Stauns here are my positives:
Once they are set they work very well. You just screw them on and hit them once and there going (yes you most likely have to hit them to get them to start don't ask, I haven't figured that out yet).
Another cool thing is while the guys are sitting next to each tire deflating them I'm deflating all four and working on disconnecting my front sway bar, doing my pre-trip inspection and doing whatever else I need to do all while they are getting very close and personal with each tire :).

So all in all I like them especially if you almost always set to the same psi, but even so it is possible to change them which does make them versatile.

I just won the ARB tire deflator at a raffle from our local cruiser club, Copper State Cruisers! I have used the Stauns and the Mil-Specs and just used the ARB yesterday. The ARB deflator Rocks! Really fast and pretty easy to use. I love the Mil-Specs the best. Very precision. You dial in the PSI that you need and they automatically deflate to that pressure. The disadvantage is that the highest PSI is 20.

The stauns are good, but a lot of work to set up. Once they are set up for the PSI that you desire, they are pretty good. Not as precision in my opinion.

Love the ARB deflators!!

I have an ARB deflator too and its great but for some reason I stopped using it and went back to pulling the valves. I pull the valve for 45 seconds and I am bang at 22psi. I can do a loop of the truck in 45 seconds so I go around pulling the valves and then go back putting them back in. All 4 down in under a minute.
