I just won the ARB tire deflator at a raffle from our local cruiser club, Copper State Cruisers! I have used the Stauns and the Mil-Specs and just used the ARB yesterday. The ARB deflator Rocks! Really fast and pretty easy to use. Love the ARB deflators!!

The ARB EZ Deflator has become one of our top sellers! Everyone loves them.
We personally use Stauns, but I am itching to trade them for the ARB.

Not trying to take away from any other deflator or make any claims of superiority here, but those who are interested in what's available may also want to look into the Klune V RAD (rapid air down) stems. These can't be set to any predetermined pressure, must be installed in place of your regular stems, and don't include a gauge.

However, they are stainless steel, include an o-ring seal and allow the use of standard stem valves. I'm not sure how unique they are--they make use of a sealed outer sleeve on the stem. The sleeve seals several large holes in the stem, below the stem valve.

About 10-12 seconds to air down a 35" tire from 30 psi to 10 psi--you need to pay attention. They're fairly massive, which can be an aid to balancing out-of-whack tires such as Intercos.

Just another option, nothing more.

I have been using the Currie (also sold by ARB with their brand on it ) for a couple of years now. I find it works great on my tires and I am not limited to using it just with the Mog. It works with all tires and I don't have to preset the pressure. If you have a set pressure in mind I guess the other deflators are ok but I really need to be flexible with different tires and trucks. Just my 2 cents worth.

Another ARB deflator fan here. I got one before Xmas (from SE) and have used it a few times since then. Easy to control, fast air down because it removes the valve stem and a nice accurate dial pressure gauge. Nice quality all brass contruction too. :wings:

Ditto here...after having it for a few months.....It is sweet as butter!

I fixed mine too, I took it apart and there was something that resembled a mangled o-ring in the center chamber, the prevented the valve from moving out of the way and slow deflation. I can't see where the o-ring came from, maybe it got in there some other way. Regardless, it now works much better than it did and its fast enough so I don't have to pull the valves.

Currie Deflater

Yesterday one of my friends whipped out his new Currie Tire deflater. He was pretty proud of it and asked if I had ever seen one before. I explained that I hadn't seen the Currie but ARB makes one just like it. He told me he ordered it direct from Currie and it was just under $40 with shipping. So I was thinking that Currie stuff is available at Summit, sure enough http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CUR-CE9029E&N=700+115&autoview=sku
$29.95 and Summit runs free shipping all the time.

The ARB deflater is a copy (possibly licensed, I dunno) of the Currie deflater. The Currie version has been around for years and that's the version I have for the Mog and everything else I ever adjust tire pressure on.

The Currie one says who makes it on the bottom, I don't recall their name. My guess is the same folks making them for ARB.

"EZ Deflator" by Burkey Manufacturing ;)

There are one or two other companies re-branding them... The Currie has been on the market for a couple years now, Tereflex has had theirs our for awhile too.

I've been using the Mil spec model I bought from extreeme outback. It works good, not the fastest trick on the planet, but very precise. (pricey too) :(

I've had problem with my Stauns going from low to lower. They work fine going from 30 to 8, but if I try 15 to 8 they won't kick in???
