Aro 244 tr-rz

My car is ARO 244 TR-RZ , the engine is Toyota 2RZ-FE , 2,4i mounted by the factory.
Is not yet an expedition vehicle but I hope I will mange to prepare it for small expedition in my country " Romania " .

Back about 12 - 13 years ago there was supposedly a plan to import the ARO to the US. They even went so far as to set up a web site and publish some photos. The specs changed over time and ultimately the project never got off the ground.

I have a couple of the brochures on my computer at home. I think they were from 1997 or 1998, pretty old in "internet years."

Very military capable looking, looks like it already covers your backyard pretty well. Can you compare it to any other vehicle to give us an idea of how it handles, rides and performs? Nice, I like it!:smiley_drive:

The engine makes a big diference at this car because alot of engines were big and heavy real tractor engines whit a small amount of bhp .
I have a Toyota gasoline engine that makes the car fell more like a sportscar then a big heavy 4x4 . It helps alot to have alot of revs on the motor when you need to get pass a nasty area in an inclimb .

I just bought one, needs an engine and transmission...original engine and transmission were Toyota. I plan to do some work on it during the coming summer...a perfect summer project. Also planning to do an expedition in the Fall of 2014.

There is one for sale here in Idaho. It's a temptation, but I know I'd never find parts for it.
