I'm looking to buy an awning to mount to the side of my truck canopy. 6ft or a bit longer would be ideal. I often setup on uneven rocky ground or pavement, so having an awning that requires NO posts or guy lines would be preferred. I would also like one that rolls up on it's own like the Thule does. Oh yeah, it needs to fit in it's own hardcase too since it will stay on the truck.
The closest thing I've found is the Shady Boy. My beef with it is that I'd like something that rolls up by itself.
Any advise or personal experience would be appreciated. I have a design idea in mind that I could use to make a roll out awning "poll-less" if needed. However, the only awning I could find that rolls out and has a hard case is the Thule. I'm not thrilled about the idea of spending $700 on an awning that still needs a lot of mods to make it what I want. I don't mind spending that kind of money, but it would need to be turnkey.
Thanks for any help.
