The pit crews will all likely be in the area of their respective pits. The crews from pits 1 and 2 will try to camp in the same spot Friday night. You are welcome to join us if you are in the area.

I believe the crew @ pit 2 will be at their pit, or near it, on Saturday night as well. The crew from pit 1 will likely head towards ensenada on Saturday after Scott and Chris leave pit 2.

Yes! Working out some details now with some other folks, but it looks like the guys from pit 1 and pit 2 will be having one very cool old school campout in valle T on friday night! :steak: :campfire:

One thing for sure, you will NOT see us at contingency! :D

We (Pit 2) are going to play this by ear.

We might stay and camp out, we might head to ensenada with everyone else, we might head to san pedro martir, we might pack up and marathon it home!

Wont know until it happens! :D

Ugh! I think I screwed up…I feel pretty bad, especially while rereading Kevin’s post #12

Kevin wrote: “I have been doing this for quite a few races and there is ALWAYS one or two folks that back out at the last minute with some lame excuse!”

I was under the impression that pit 3 would be down by Erindera. Because that’s here we saw a lot of other teams pitting last year.

I’m traveling with My family (wife and two kids 13 and 11) we are camping in the popup. Our plan is to leave Santa Barbara early Friday morning at 3:00AM and arrive at Ensenada in time to secure parking and walk through Contingency then head to a camp spot and stay put until Sunday morning. When we would break camp and head straight home.
I read my note from Jonathan and he’s not camping at pit three. I don’t think my family would have much fun camping at the side of the hwy 1 Friday and Saturday nights especially if we are the only ones there. Dave, are you camping at Estero Beach? Maybe we could camp there and then drive back and forth to the race. Being at the beach is a big plus because there is a lot to do while waiting for the race.

Could we camp at Valle De Trinadad and try to make it to pit #3?

One thing we could do is set up a pit # 2.5 just north of Erindera. We have a race radio generator, tools, halogen lights etc. we could put out a sign and if you need us we are there, if not you can just race by. Being at the beach is a big plus because there is a lot to do while waiting for the race.

I don’t want to be a flake, I’m just not sure how to balance family fun with race fun. Anybody have some suggestions on how I can make this work out?

Brian,

Do we need a floor Jack for pit #1 or is this already taken care of. I can bring mine, but it's heavy as all get out and I'd rather not if it's not needed.

Anybody else getting nervous?

Hey Matt,

I am staying at The Ensenada Beach House and am not camping. I have my brother coming with me. Why don't you camp and drive to us once we have found a pit spot on Saturday, depending on what we are doing Friday we could come find you @ the Beach spot you suggested, having raised 3 kids of my own, I agree the side of the Hiway is no fun. I would like the side trip having never been there before. Look forward to meeting you :)

Think "cucumber" dude. It's just another weekend in Baja :)

For you it's another weekend. It's my first Baja trip and I feel like I'm the one racing...

I'm sure the nerves are just because I'm afraid I'll forget something. That coupled with the fact that not one of my CB's is working right now. I did get the 2 meter installed however which was a huge weight off my shoulders.

Can't wait to get down there and grouped up with everyone. Oh yeah... packed the dominoes last night too. You up for a game Chris? I promise not to offend...

Oh man, I'd love a game of dominoes... but only if you announce the game in that traditional style... LOL you know, the one with the exclamation point at the end? Take care and drive safe. See you there.

Matt, no worries. Family comes first and foremost. We completely understand. If it works out, cool. If not, we won't hold anything against you :)

Bman, I do not have a single jack here that works except for my hi-lift. The rest of mine died. If you have one, and can manage, please bring it.
