Matomi Wash is between San Felipe & Puertocitos. Runs from the paved road west to the mountains. There is a track from there heading north that should connect with the dry lake you crossed NW of San Felipe.

I see it on the map now. The dirt road I took from the dry lake put me on the MEX 5 just north of San Felipe.

On a side note - from what I saw they are now working on paving the MEX 5 south from Puertecitos to Bahia Gonzaga. I'm not sure when it's planned for completion, but there was a lot of heavy equipment down there.

Pavement is going in all over Baja. The Vizcaino/Bahia Tortuga Rd. is paved except for about 20 Miles, which they are working on. The Mex 1 to Punta Abreojos Rd. is almost complete, less then 10 miles that they are currently working on. I haven't been by for 6 months, but the San Ignacio/Laguna San Ignacio should be close to half way by now.

Change is here. :(

Congrats on a great trip Jeremy!
They have been working on the road from Puertocitos to Gonzaga for quite some time now... The big question will be whether or not they actually complete ALL of the road.

Sounds like we just missed each other. We got home on the 20th. It would have been neat to run into you.

Yeah, I heard through the grapevine that you guys were down there, but a little further south. I was there from the 19th-23rd. It definitely would have been cool to run into you!
