Baja Rack UT

RSB, Does the bajarack indeed flip like the gobi for soft top useage? Is it designed into it? I know the gobi is available with a quick release for flip, is the bajarack the same? To the other poster, Bajarack has improved their materials that will stop the "sag" in the rack you describe. There was an article about it in O.J. last year. I love the fact that this rack is very low profile. And a almost 1/2 the price of a gobi, Im down for this one for sure.

There are no instructions that say this but the design of the rear mounting brackets seem the same as the Gobi set up. I'm sure it could be done the same way. Would have to call Baja to see what they say.

After looking at a bunch of Gobi photos I can't see why this wouldn't flip up just the same. If I wasn't living in a ducks paradise up here in the PNW I might go out and try if it ever stops raining. At least I will be able to report a rust report in a few years....

thanks rsb. You can ship it to me to have it powdercoated and protective coating baked on if it does!

I have a Gobi stealth.. and this makes me sad( I paid 1450, including shipping, with ladder, quick disconnects and deflector). I spent a year thinking about going for the rack
Anyway... this is good for you guys. If RSB can let us know about the hinge on the rear legs, we'll know if these can be hinged for the soft top.

The weight capacity is the same as the gobi(300/600). The design is very similar. I'm not sure if they licensed this from Gobi. The height, front mounts, rear leg design looks the same, at least from the pictures.

In a way this is good news! Competition.

Post a pic of your rear rack hinge point here and I'll do the same.
