updates on the barn fresh bantam
Updates on the build. Got the bad parts of the floor cut out including the rear cross member, and the floor of the M416 tub I have.
The rear cross member goes back in first after some clean up of the rear corners. I may add a cross member in the center since I have plenty of 3" channel.
Then I'll cut the 416 floor to fit and weld it in. I don't have the tooling to make the 90 degree bend around the edges of the new floor, so I plan to weld in an entire perimeter support using 1" angle iron.
My new axle from Red Neck Trailers supply should be in today.

Trailer update and happy turkey day to you all.
Had the tub and frame parts blasted a few days ago as well as had the local welding shop fab up my multi-axis coupler with plans from the TVenturing web board. Got the leaf spring bushings and lower shock mounts in from Morris 4x4. Assembled that all and bolted on the axle. Now she rolls again!!
Disregard the extra frame work welded on the sides. Those are temporary stands so I can roll it around for fabrication.
Next is to redo it all and put the axle on top of the spring pack. The trailer just sits too high for my 4 Runner. Axle flip will drop it down about 3 inches
Even though the fenders look funky in the pics, I plan to use them with some tweaking. Probably split them in two and add in a 3 inch strip to widen them. If I still don't like the look I'll locally fabricate a set of Jeep style flat top fender. I plan to add running boards to tie into the front and back of the fenders in order to carry a couple ammo cans and fuel cans.
Floor will be 14 gauge tread plate and I have enough material left over to build a matching tailgate.
Tongue is too long by about 12 inches so that'll get cut down too.

Finally got back on the Bantam for a bit today. Front support for floor welded in, fabbed up the upper shock mounts using a piece of 3x3 16ga square tubing that I split into 1.5 x 3 x 3.
Theses fit snugly into the farme rail. Used two bolts from a Tractor Supply shackle bolt kit #123C for the upper pins.
The lowers were spring plates with shock mounts from a jeep restoration company. Shocks came from Rock Auto, Monroe # 32207.
Stuck the original Bantam fenders back on after doing a spring under axle swap, she sits really low now.

Yep! saw your build. Very nice! I am at a stopping place on mine at the moment. My girls vette is in the garage now. Been putting it on the back burner for some time now. New Years resolution is to try and get her back in the road by spring. I still have my Harbor Freight trailer set up with my RTT in the interim.

I still have it. Pretty much in the same condition as the last picture. I purchased a Land Rover Discovery last spring and have been working the bugs out. I may get back to the trailer sometime in this decade. maybe.....
