You may want to make a few simple leveling blocks at home prior to the trip.

We use a 2" x 4" with holes drilled in them for the legs to rest in. We also had to do this to keep the legs from sinking in after we warmed the groung up.

Just my $ .02 :)

Thanks for the tip Darryl. :)

Well, I got a chance to use the new stove in high winds (note the 23 tie downs!) and 20-30 degree weather with rain and some snow.

We loved it. It kept the tent up to around 70 f, even with the stove damper fully closed. The pics don't show it but it also has a 5 gal water tank that hangs on the side. It was nice have hot water any time you wanted. :wings:

Later when the weather warmed up to the 40s, we had to keep some windows open to manage the inside temp down to comfortable levels.

Where do you stow your woodburner and BBQ?

All the stovepipe, warming shelf, water tank parts, and legs store inside the stove. I then just strap the stove barrel on top of my trailer. The BBQ gets packed inside my 4Runner.

I've never seen anything like it before. Is it common for you guys (in the States) to camp like that with "indoor" fires? It seems like a lot of hard work.

Not common at all unless your looney like me. :shakin: The only folks who normaly use wood burning stoves are base camps for Elk hunting in snow country.

I only got one because the KK came with a stove jack in the roof and it seemed criminal to not use it. :wings:

It is a bit of work to haul and set up so would only use it if I was in one place for at least a few days and the weather justifed it.

It was nice to walk into a really warm tent when it was freezing outside.:camping:

The first two nights the wind/rain and snow was so nastey, I didn't have an outside fire. It was nice to stay inside out of the weather and still enjoy the heat of a fire.

Awesome set up Brad!!!! We need to get a KK round up, for that matter, a circle the wagons round up!!!!!!!

A KK round up would be a riot. It would be interesting to see how many owners we can find. They seem to be few and far between. :jumping:

By the way, with the wood burning stove, I didn't need to use the on board diesel heater. With the screen windows open between the sleeping area and the main tent, the stove kept the entire area comfortable for most of the night. It would cool off by about 5:00 AM but the guy sleeping in the main tent area would throw a few logs on then and we would wake up to a warm tent again. :wings:
