*Best* Battery?

Do you remember the size?
Two ways to do it.
1) trust the sales guy to look up your battery and give you the right one.
2) measure your old battery, the hole, the cable lengths/orientation, & go in and buy the most battery that will fit.
We did option #2 for Glen's truck; sales guy said there was no Platinum battery to fit it...

I have a group 31 in my trailer to run the fridge and lights. 3 days of cold beer on a charge. :ylsmoke:

Looking at buying two Costco batteries today for my split charge system in my truck. I would assume that as long as they are secured they would be fine for off road abuse. I am done with Optima, every optima I have bought goes flat in a year. I used regular lead acid batteries prior to that with no problems, might as well go back to what works.

I used wet cell batteries for close to 40 years (Diehards) and got good service out of them. The Diehard marine I had in my Lighweight that saw a lot of winching and Vermont/Ohio/Wisconsin winters lasted 7 years or so. But I liked the stats on the Exide Spirals better than Optima, so tried those which I got very good service from. But when they needed replacement I liked the specs on the Platinum even better so decided to give them a try. I've never used Optima and it's a safe bet I won't. If I end up not liking the Platinum, I'll go back to the Exide Orbital. I don't see myself ever using wet cell batteries again.

FYI, Omptia is owned by Johnson Controls.
Yea, I wasn`t sure who bought them out. I work for a freight company over in Aurora,Co. and we use to have Optima`s account for there shipping. Optima`s warehouse use to be right down the street from us.

I was at Costco last night, scratching my head at these, they have a big Deep Cycle/Starting battery that might be good too. Who knows, maybe the same manufacture as the DieHard Platinums?

Costco's return policy is pretty generous.

Sears DieHard Platinums are made by Enersys who also make Odyssey batteries, don't know if the same company makes the regular Sears batteries.
We (Johnson Controls) make the Sears Gold but not at the same factory as the Optimas.
I don't work in our battery division; found the info on the interweb.
