Give u the rundown and my reviews. All tires used on landscaping trucks 1500, 2500, 3500 silverados, with plows hauling loaded 20' trailers .... (1500)Cooper St 285's "load E"- great tire for everyday beatings.. Snow traction (can be studded)good until it gets icy, got 65k miles out of them.. great in rain no hydro plane. only got buried in the deep snow when the frame got up on a thick snow bank. Drove them on stone roads and don't pic up much rock. sand ok but dig unless u air down. City street drone got loud after 40000 miles but sounded good. Overall I would buy them in heart beat any day. Moab, telluride, and Toledo and several cross country trips with them.. Heavy but not to heavy..Lost 1-2mpgs overall. (2500) Goodyear Duratracs 285's "load E" 2nd set get about 45k out of them... City street drone gets loud at 30-50mph. wet weather watch out for the tar on the streets it will slide and u won't stop. Snow traction great, rips the mud up just as well, never been stuck hit the hammer and they dig. sand they dig quick so air down. side lugs help dig as well. pulled out a couple huge screws and no punctures strong sidewalls. very heavy tire , about 3-4mpgs lost. (1500) Pro comp xtm "load e" 285's used primarily out in Colorado./ moab.. Great snow tire, suck when it gets icy. No hydroplane, great over washboard just hit the pedal and go. rock crawling they r super sticky when aired down, got buried plenty of times 600" snow year. Road noise not to loud 30-50mphs, heavy tire lost 3-4mpgs 40k on them . (3500) "load e" 265's Michelin at2 throw every little rock or pebble imaginable at your rig. great handling in rain and sand, not for gravel roads at all. not the best in any type of mud they get slick. Snow traction is totally laughable...(they say they tested these things and got good reviews and whatever else... get the chains or the studs cuz these suck worse than race slicks.i've had to use 4x just to get up a slight incline on paved roads in telluride ...no noise very smooth ride. drive all the mtn passes with them and had a few hunks out of the sidewalls..(imogene, ophir, the forks, alpine loop,etc.. great gas mpgs no other complaints but definitely not like the other tires above... WILL NOT BUY AGAIN.. came with the new truck

How were the Toyo AT2's in the mud?

My AT2s (235/85/16) are not that good in mud. Definitely worse than my Duratracs were. But I tend to avoid mud anyway. My AT2s work very well on dry, rocky terrain, which is where I probably spend the most low-range time.

Had Cooper AT-3 which I thought was a great tire. Their road manners were really good but the sidewalls couldn't handle the rocks. I drive in a lot of rocks and ended up swapping them out for the AT KO E rated tires just for their 3 ply sidewall. If you stay away from rocks the choices are more difficult. Almost every law enforcement vehicle around Big Bend (West Texas) uses BFG AT/KO, border patrol, park rangers and the local sheriff vehicles are almost always equipped with the AT/KO tires.
What size Coopers did you run ? Were they lt or p rated?

General grabber AT2 I've had in deep snow, deeper sand, on rocks, and lots of pavement. Not overly sensitive to rotations either. Love this tire. Buying another set in the next size up after I finish my lift.

Tire buyer on eBay has 4 for $640 so that's $800for 5 before rebates. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-LT265-75R16-10-General-Grabber-AT2-Tire-

I have run 3 out of four of those tires Jhill. My favorite of all was the Hankooks. A little softer sidewall than the coopers, and cheaper overall than the others (in my area anyways). I was running 265/70/17s.

I think I like the hankooks the best as well. The reviews are great and they are $130 each with free shipping. So that also makes them the cheapest of the 4...the nitto terra g2 will probably be pretty expensive because its a new line of tire coming out so I can go ahead and X those out, however they look awesome. They all have the same load rating...and I believe are the same ply as well. But the hankooks seem to be the best tire for the money.

I like my Hankook ATM's as well. Good on road manners, quiet with just a low hum as they wear, good wet road and snow traction, and they more than meet my mild off road requirements. They are also wearing well. I have Cooper AT3's on my other Jeep and like them as well. Very similar to the Hankooks. The Hankooks look a little more rugged with the sidewall design if that matters to people. Both were cheap with Discount Tire Direct Discounts combined with manufacturers discounts.

Yes, the AT3 and ATM are very very similar. Price is what made me goto the Hankooks the second time around. I had 50k on them and they looked like new. very very good tires!
