Jim, thanks again for organizing a great trip! Couldn't have asked for a better day, or a nicer group of guys. I'm going to hang the certificate you made me on the wall of my cube, to remind me that there's more to life than work. ;) I can't speak for anyone else, but I thought the trails you chose were perfect; scenic, plenty challenging enough to keep things interesting, and carnage-free.

Likewise, thanks to all of the attendees for the great spotting and assistance, and getting my mildly-built Xterra through the day unscathed. I had a blast ogling all your rigs, learned a lot, and have lots of ideas for future mods. Looking forward to meeting up with all of you on the trail again!!

:victory:

DesertBound- I gotta tell you that you deserve the, "Award for Best Driver of the Day"! You took that nearly stock X where no other nearly stock X has ever ventured without serious body damage:gunt: Good job and great driving!

Well Expat I gotta copy you again. I have a pretty good slash on my Silent Armors and it looks like I need a new set of Shoes. So unless BFG make a 275 (which they don't) I NEED (mind you not want) to get the 275 MTR's. Sorry Bud it just so happen you and I think alike!!!!!!!!

Ian, with the lines you were taking with the Runner I'm not surprised you scuffed a shoe:) I've got some great pics of you on three tires that I'll post this evening. You've got a great eye for the hard line:costumed-smiley-007

It looks like you guys had a great time Saturday. Sunday did not work out so well, Ron B, sorry I couldnt reply to the last post from Saturday, I was out packing up my junk. I was in BB Sunday looking for an H1, a Unimog (figured those would not be hard to miss).and anyone else that may show. The wife and I went out exploring anyway, we just stayed off the really tough trails, because we were alone :( .

Hi Andrew --

we don't live too far apart (I'm in Hollywood), let's get together and do the rest of John Bull someday, maybe Dishpan and 2N17X?. We can give each other rides...the Defender is one of my fav trucks and I've never been in one.

**not to thread jack but this may not warrant a whole new thread?!

The Pro-Comp Xterrains (38.5x17) did the best. A close second were the PJ Dirt Grips (38x17). The Cooper SST's barely beat the MTR's. The Xterrains were also very quiet on the road for such an aggressive tire. My truck unfortunately was not able to attend the fun so I can't comment on my 37x12.5 Iroks, which do fine around So Cal, but are deffinately noisier than the Pro-Comps on the road.

sorry I missed you Mike (kind of wish I had gone anyways), I thought everyone bailed (except Richard) so I decided to stay local and play on Rowher with the family. The drive to/from Big Bear and a long day of wheeling is a bit much for the wife and 3 yr old.

We'll do it again! It's probably about the same distance from each of us (I grew up in Palm Desert).

I was aring up at the Arco and notied a slash about 2 inches long and pretty deep. There was no leak over the rest of the weekend and the drive to work was ok. To be safe I think I need a new set by the Pyrimid Weekend.

You still driven up on Thursday???? I got the ok from the wife. Let me know!!!!!

Big Bear is close, I seem to be going there more often, let me know next time you want to go. Two weeks ago I took Burns Canyon road from Pioneer Town up to BB. We also take the canoe up to paddle around sometimes.

All,
Made it back to San Diego Sunday evening after stopping by Adventure Trailers in Upland. Met with Martyn who spent the time to answer all of my questions and let me crawl in, on, above, under his trailers. It was five bucket of drool event for me, all I could think of while driving home was "more money, what can I sell, more money what can I sell?". Martyn and the guys in the shop, thank you for showing me around, great people, great product.

Teotwaki, I had a great time, thank you for taking the time to put it together and make it happen. Keep me in mind when you are organizing another "Jimboree", I'm in.

\\'anderer, Sorry we missed each other, I had half an ear turned towards channel four on Sunday, but heard no calls.

Now I need to stop being a lurker and learn to post pics.

"5 Buckets Of Drool" I like that qualifier!

I can help step you through how I post the pictures up if you'd like to talk on the phone.

Really glad to meet you!

Hope you have pictures of the trailer too. Maybe for another thread?
