And thanks from me as well. A good unit for the Sprinter, I'm expecting, as I'll be moving its GPS computer to another vehicle.

Looks like it's all set up for street navigation. Anyone know if this GPS will accept topo maps?

Just for info, the "list " price on Amazon is exaggerated ( as is often the case on Amazon) - Garmin's site shows $599.95 list price when it was a current model, but it has been discontinued for a while...also the MSN Direct service it comes with will be completely discontinued 1/1/12, so it's a limited time, soon to be obsolete, feature.

It may still be an OK deal, but support for it will be limited, including new map products....

if you could find a Nuvi 255W (also wide screen) they are only 89 at Sam's/Wal Mart. That is what I have and with the updates, it is fairly accurate..

From an Amazon review:

"I've had this for about a year now, I thought I'd add two notes. First, since a software update earlier this year (4.6 I think, now 4.8) the topo maps no longer work for me even installed in the units own memory. It will just lock up after a few seconds or minutes at most and needs to be power cycled, like it used to with the maps on the SD card."

I did read another post on the net from someone who had loaded the Eastern Topo maps on a Nuvi 780. The maps were in the GPS but it wasn't navigating correctly or with full function.
