Hi folks,
Have a look at what I chanced upon last week, for sale locally by someone who had brought the vehicle back from the UK (it's LHD though!). 1992 HZJ80 with the smooth, reliable 1HZ non-turbo 6 cylinder diesel engine, and 5 speed manual transmission. Very stock, and what is referred to as the "poverty pack" interior (vinyl seats and floor covering, no AC, no fancy instrumentation, no sun-roof, etc.). I really like it. It's in very good condition, only 215,000 kms.
Even though I presently owned a very solid 1982 BJ60 with the indestructible 3B engine (very little rust, only 230,000 kms), I just couldn't pass up the 80 series. So I'll likely be putting up the BJ60 for sale soon, and will notify this list in case of interest (gets 25-30 Miles per imperial gallon, can run on biodiesel and is a very good candidate for WVO and turbo installation).
Now I can focus my "expedition vehicle" preparation on the HZJ80 (had not had much time to carry out the mods on the BJ60, since I had only acquired that last Fall).
