I would sooner restore my 95 Disco from the frame up with new engine and drivetrain than buy some poof LR or RR.

I know it took a very long time and alot of discussion to bring the FJ cruiser about. They wanted it based on the old FJ series, a true 4x4.

IRRC, Land Rover limited the importation of the D90's and 110's into USA to keep from making changes to meet some US DOT spec's. Since the model was limited to a low number they did not have to add airbags ,etc which worked until they pulled out. The dealers sold them all and many at a premium.

To be sure the market for this type of truck is limited but maybe a little less so now if the amount of 4 door Wranglers I see around is any indication.

So now the dealers will have to buy extra signage, displays and other related items due to the switch. That doesn't sound like a good thing to do in this economy.
