The difference between 89 octane and 91/93 octane is only a few dollars per fill up, I put Chevron or Shell premium in all of our cars except the diesel of course. But I feel spoiled whenever I go from driving one of our other cars to driving truck, the torque of a turbo diesel is a nice feeling even if they aren't very fast. Maybe one day I will swap a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel into the Montero....

OBDII wasn't a standard until 96 and that's when Mitsu implemented it. Your 95 still uses proprietary Mitsu diagnostics. I.e. You need a multimeter (preferably analog) to read the engine codes for a check engine light. Other than that, you'll need a. Mitsu compatible pre-OBDII diagnostic tool to read what's going on with your engine.

also, although it probably won't be practical for everyday use, you can get higher octane gas but it's far from prevelant. Check your performance car forums to find out what local gas stations sell higher octane fuel. Alternatively your local racetrack will have higher octane fuels.

Oh, I know where all the race fuels are located in the area. E85 too. But I'm not spending $8-$12 per gallon to feed this stock pig race gas. lol.

I think the dark lower half looks pretty good, what about you guys? Maybe a white roof to go with it. :)

I think the dark looks pretty cool! I was gonna go the opposite route...I'm gonna paint the roof to match the lower trim. Might stay a degree or 2 cooler in the summer months.

Took it out for a drive today. Still have a little bit of the exhaust to finish up, the truck rides good, full clearance lock to lock in the steering.

Holy Icelandic tires! That thing looks unreal! Makes me wonder what I could be doing to my '03 XLS Monty...

CNC plasma'd a new front bumper for the truck, nice and tidy. Been putting the 4 wheel drive to good work :D

Our area is in a state of emergency right now, tons of snow dropped and below 0 temps. Montero doesnt seem to mind.

Today I helped my 4'11" cousin pick up her first Montero, she had a turbo AWD 1g about 8 years ago and loved it, she's been loving my montero for a while so i found her one.

Runs great, has decent miles, rides smooth and silk and no smoke or leaks, she's pretty stoked about it and I'll be setting it up with 33's, a rear sleeping set up and possibly a front bumper like mine.
