thanks for the info. just found it. it's doesn't say what its rated for though. if it handles a 12,000 pound winch i would go ahead and buy it

I copied this from the summit racing website.. Sounds to me like it will handle it...

"Mile Marker builds these Extreme winch mounts to handle the extreme tension that their winches can create! Tested to the extreme, they incorporate a thick mounting steel plate and steel bar, which are fully welded to the vertical upright mounting brackets. This creates an extremely strong "box structure" capable of withstanding the 12,000 lb. force that Mile Marker winches produce."

I like the fact that it has a couple holes and a cross bar to mount lights to. It also keeps the factory tow hooks... which I like. Do you have some choices for a rear bumper setup?

cant choose between a backwoods basic rear bumper and ill add a spare tire and fuel carrier for it or one of those nice aluminess rears to save weight.

or just build a tire carrier over the stock bumper...

on another note, i hope you got your order in on the mile marker cause they are both gone when i checked today.

Unfortunately, I missed it. It looks like they have more listed, but they no longer are offering free shipping on all of them and the ones they do offer free shipping on are $550 with "free" shipping... :( I guess I'll just keep looking for them to hit ebay cheap.

talked with the company that had them, they still have more. turns out they screwed up on shipping prices. you can now get one for 359 shipped to your door if interested i have their number.

Interesting.. $359 isn't TOO bad... Worse than it was, but I understand.. I did think it was a bit cheap! Let me talk to the CFO (read wife) and see what she says, then I may be PMing you for the number!

Track Bar

Since you all were on the topic of track bars. I have a Thuren Fab track bar I bought brand new and never used. It fits a 98-02 2500 RAM. If anyone is interested let me know. I paid 349.00 for it. I'll take 200.00 for it. PM me if interested.

Sweet build! You are doing a good job researching your upgrades. I just threw money at mine and at the end I could have been rolling in an Earthroamer by now.

The best upgrade I did was a TC lock for the AT 47RE. Google "Diesel Transmission Technology" located in Canada. I also had billet shafts and a single plate billet TC and its now bullet proof. Although your 48RE is much better than my original 47RE trans I'd still look into upgrading the TC locker, as the CTD was slapped onto a tranny designed for a gas engine.

yea thanks again for showing me that, definatly the most cost effective way to get a winch upfront.

as for the tranny, i am saving for a full rebuild by goerend transmission. Just not there yet and that account seems to be dropping as i buy other mods! oops...
