Bull Bar Hi-Lift Mount?

Does anyone know of a quality product to mount a hi-lift to my ARB Bull bar?

Thanks- Gary

A little on the blingy side, but one option is Four-Treks.

Nice! A little spray paint will kill the bling factor. Anyone know the diameter of the top tube on a Tacoma ARB Bull Bar?

WOW... $105 for a jack that is less than $80.

you could have one fabbed up for way less than that!

(just my .02)

The price is steep, but once you see these brackets in person, you'll understand why.

You'd be hard pressed to find a machinist who can duplicate the quality of these units for a lesser price.

My Fourtreks brackets are a 1-7/8" diameter, but I think the actual outside diameter was 1.89xx"... The fit was close enough and is very snug.

Your results may vary, but my billet wing nuts work themselves loose off-pavement. I remedied this by dropping $0.25 on a pair of stainless lock washers.

I just bought some long bolts and wingnuts, and by utilizing some shock bushings, along with some washers to space it off the bumper, created a mount. Total cost was about 8 bucks.

Any photos you can show us?

I second that it would not be very likely that you could have such parts custom made for less than FourTrek's price. They are set up specifically to make those parts, they already have a tooling advantage over anyone else.

There is, however, a product known as a "split shaft clamp" or a "split collar clamp" that is available from Reid Tool or McMaster (to name a couple of the likely many vendors) that is essentially the base part of the FourTreks design. The major difference between them is that the FourTreks design has a much larger OD, which allows for much easier attachment of the secondary brackets.

Similar to Moody's idea, what I've seen done is to use a piece of 1/2" round bar stock with a hole drilled crossways in one end, & welded to whatever with the cross-hole oriented length-wise to the jack's beam. Then slide a shock bushing down over the bar followed by the jack's beam, a washer, and then insert a hat pin in the hole. If you set the bar length correctly there will be a little bit of tension on the hat pin. Pushing down/in on the jack beam allows removal of the hat pin & washer.

Another inexpensive idea similar to what moody and ntsqd have mentioned is to use a heavy duty muffler clamp with a bolt welded to it.

I've always ground the edge of the hex-heads down so they fit inside the base of the clamp and weld them on the inside so you can't see the weld. I also use a shock bushing and wing nut as moody suggests. Paint the whole thing and mount it up.

Cheap and effective. They don't look as nice as the clamps ntsqd suggests, imo.

Moody's idea is pretty cool, simple and ceap. Three of my favorite things! If I don't drive 1.5 hours to Moab this afternoon (watching the weather) I'll give Moody's setup a shot this weekend.

:archaeolo I have a very cheap storage (0)

Course, I have an XTERRA

I just put my HiLift (48") under my rear passenger seats and it takes me 30 seconds to put the base on, with key--SLOW

Course, that way, there's no exposure damage, sun/weather/pidgeons/lightning/off-course missles

I'm a machinist by trade and I can tell you that $105 for a quality machined set of clamps is a total bargain. If I were to make something like that (as a 1-off piece), you'd be looking at 4 to 5 times that.

Have you thought about using the Hi-Lift Jack Mount? It would required you to drill a few holes in the bumper, but everyone seems to like it.
