I have seen the beacon sign a few times and I only glanced at your pics...shows what I get for not looking closer.

I really need to do a trip with you guys as it seems our travel styles are very close!

So just to clarify; photoshopping that sign was your idea of a joke??

I don't know where to start. I came across your report while researching for a drive through there. My friend saw your handiwork and assuming it was real, I mean why would someone make that up? she immediately shot off a series of complaints to the relevant authorities.

I'll make sure to explain that it was just some ignorant knob's idea of a bit of fun.

Yes, that was my idea of a joke, I do it all the time to see if people are paying attention. We even had a contest on my last trip report where I personally rewarded the people who found the altered images.
It's too bad your friend is so quick on the draw without verifying, that can get you into some real trouble down on the border and life in general. So, I wonder who the real ignorant knob is here?

I just deleted the photo to avoid any future confusion.
