Left Friday June 5th from Raleigh NC to the Outpost in Troy NC (35.446616, -80.020951)
This was a club and family run for Mud N' Blood Off Road Club. My son and I packed up and headed out just after lunch time.

Popped a pin hole in the lower radiator hose half way there when I stopped for snacks. Lucky there was an Advanced auto in the strip stores I stopped at. Topped the water off and pushed on with a spare hose with me just in case it got any worse. Lasted the whole trip without another drop.
Got to the Outpost and met up with the first of the other club members, Joe. It was his first time at Uwharrie so I thought I'd take him up to the lower ledge at Daniel Trail to see it, this was his face...PRICELESS.

Then it was off to set up camp and wait for my wife and two other kids and the other club members and families

This little guy was on the truck when I left work and hung on all the way to Uwharrie doing 75mph!

Once everyone got to camp we let the kids play and called it a night. The next morning we started our fire back up and cooked up some eggs and 3#s of bacon LOL

We ran Rocky Mountain Loop, Saw Mill, Falls Damn, and the back side of Daniel before cooking some hot dogs one the side of Daniel while watching some FJs play on the slab piles.

Once we got back to camp our last member showed up with his ZR2 Chevy and we cooked ribs, chicken, cheddar braughts, taters, and corn all on the fire. We eat well on the trails! Let the kids play in the lake some more and popped open a cold one.

Had some breakage and body damage, snapped both sway bar end links and broke an exhaust hanger. Crushed a rocker too, I am cutting them out for 2x6 rock sliders anyway.

We loaded up Sunday and went back out to finish off every trail except DickyBell, Kevin's WJ was the only one we knew would make that trail without on issue and on Sundays we don't have any time to fix things before we go home.
Playing in the mud hole and some trail pix

Found what was left of the H1 Hummer that burnt to the ground on Daniel Trail 2 weeks ago. Melted aluminum and scorched earth.

rolled out of the trail system for a gas up and good buy at the Outpost and hit the road. Going back July 17th to the 19th after we all get our rides fixed LOL.

Uwharrie is a nice place. My wife and I like to hike and camp the Uwharrie National Recreation trail. I had a 68' CJ5 catch on fire there once. When you blow your last fuse, don't put a piece of wire in the fuse holder, there is a reason that you blew more than one. LOL.

The USMC burnt an H1 to the ground a couple weeks ago on the rock garden on Daniel. Coming down they cracked a fuel line and then hit the rocks and it lit up. Still a pile of melted metal and parts on the side of the trail, they drug the body out though.

Looks like a good time! I love seeing a ZR2 romping around! I had one for 6 years and miss it sometimes.

I was there when the HMMWV caught fire. It was Army Special Forces that were training at the top of Daniel and they only had one fire extinguisher for 5 vehicles. I gave them both of mine but it wasn't enough to keep the fire out. One tree did catch fire but it didn't spread. It took about an hour for the fire department to show but they weren't able to bring any equipment up so the only option was to let it burn out. I'm not sure if 5 fire extinguishers would have been enough but I think they would have had a shot at saving the HMMWV.
