Camping help needed in Mexico

As my kids are eager to go for a camping, We are planning a 3 days camping trip on Las Palomas Natural Reserve, Mexico sometime between December to January. Dates are still not fixed yet. Any recommendation apart from the place we have decided? It will be my first time camping there.
We will be exploring other parts of Mexico as well for 2-3 weeks. I have done my own research as to where to visit and all. Still it would be better if someone here with previous experience can guide or give any recommendations. It will be a new cultural experience for my kids also.

Well I am posting whole tour schedule here what I have planned. First 3 days We have planned for Camping in Las Palomas Natural Reserve. Then will explore historical sites and Chapultepec castle along with Teotihuacan and Basilica of Guadalupe for a couple of day. Their famous Lucha libre show is also in my bucket list. It will be a fun experience for my kids. We will move to Cancum for Chichen Itza, Playa Delfines, Isla Mujeres. And our last stop is Tulum, where we will stay for 2 days to do local sightseeing. My whole iteniary is planned based on these https://www.voyagemexique.info/en/mexico-itinerary-2-weeks/, https://gowithguide.com/blog/mexico-tourism-statistics-2023-5248. Any suggestions or modification required on this travel plan? Also, do we need a guide over there, as I am not good with Spanish myself.

Are you driving down, or flying down and renting a vehicle?

Mexico is a wonderful place, like anywhere else in the world. It has some places to avoid, but keep a good head on your shoulders and do your research.

Most of the really touristy places they are used to a lot of Spanglish, or just speak English. The further you go from those places you will probably need Spanish. That being said, if you know a little. And are friendly and try, most people will try and work with you. Google translate also works well.

Im not sure why you aren’t getting any other replies. It seems the traffic on Expo has really gone down the last year. Or at least the “helpful traffic”. There is a Latin America sub forum, but it looks pretty dead.

All the touristy areas are well known, prices will be higher, and its an Image of what is assumed Americans think Mexico is. The father out, more authentic, and less English support. You can down load google translate and Spanish on your phone for offline use. Ask the locals. Most resorts will probably have guides you can hire. Although probably expensive compared to elsewhere in Mexico.

You may be able to find a broke bilingual college student around there somewhere. haha
