Crossed fingers!! I head out to northern Wyoming this weekend to pickup my Unicorn bike! The 2022 Tenere T700 in Tec Black with a 1000 miles on it. They only made the Tec Black in 21-22 and it's the one I've been searching for.......so, crossed fingers nothing happens in the next couple of days before I head out!

It's the bike I'll be rolling on this years MotoCamp run August/September. I'll post it up on here for anyone thats interested.

Yep. There are two things I chose this bike to do.

1) Long distance travel. Mainly highway/ two-lane runs back and forth from Colorado to visit my family and friends in Kansas City, Mo. and points in between. I've already got the Tenere aluminum panniers and rack for the road travel.

2) Adventure travel. Continue to explore Colorado, Utah and points south/west.

I'm going to keep the bike as OEM/bone stock for the foreseeable future and only upgrade/farkle as needed. I'd like to get a extra set of OEM wheels so I can just swap street tires to dirt tires depending on where I'm going. I suspect this will be the last "big" bike I'll get since father time keeps kicking my ********. From here I'll start looking around the 250-400 range.

Sounds like a good plan. Only thing I've added to my bike is a Quad Lock phone mount, an expandable tail bag from my old bike and upper cross bars.

I was lucky as it came from the factory with saddle bags, hand guards and a pretty robust bash plate.

After scouting locations last weekend we scored this great dispersed spot for the long July 4 weekend. This was way off the road in a nice clearing





Fire restrictions began a few days earlier so I brought our Trail Fire grill. The Rangers came by when we were out hiking and dropped a flag to remind us about the restrictions.





Love the Trail Fire for the cooking


The Rangers also flagged a fresh pile of Bear poop and the funny thing is that our dog went crazy alerting us of danger when we got back from hiking. I think they were poking it with the stick to see how fresh it was. It was from that day or the night before while we were sleeping. We slept with the doors closed this night

Different angle on some of our recent campsites from a month-long trip that took us from Virginia to western Montana, up to Edmonton, back down to Montana, to Lander, WY, and the Badlands before the slog back east.

Along the Forestry Trunk Road just south of Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada. It, regularly, varied from bluebird skies to less than a mile of visibility with snow squalls. Stunning country!



Below Wildhorse Ridge along Ya Ha Tinda Road in Alberta, Canada. It was like a wind tunnel in the valley, hence putting the chairs behind the truck in a feeble attempt to escape it.



Just barely over the Idaho border west of Henry's Lake outside of West Yellowstone at sunset.



Limestone Mountain above the popular Wild Iris climbing area south of Lander, WY. It was only after going through pictures after getting home that I realized we can see the property we ended up buying just two days later from here!



Same spot but looking out at the Wind River Range. Yes, our dogs got a matching dog chair.



6 hour Nightlapse north of Badlands National Park in the basin below the fabled "Wall". We were all alone in complete darkness while The Wall was just littered with RVs with their lights on, generators humming, and general sense of...no thanks.

Funny, I was just doing some rteading on the Forestry trunk road to see what shape it's in. I'd like to take my motorcycle for a jaunt down it.

My oldest daughters boyfriend was just talking about heading down it as well then veering off to check out Ruby Falls which was not terribly far from where you were.

We ran it for just 2ish days the last week of May. Despite regular squalls, nothing ever accumulated and I welcomed any precipitation as the dust was insane! It looked like they'd just graded nearly the entire part we were on. In fact they WERE grading Ya Ha Tinda which provided a bit of slot car-like excitement at times. The middle section was closed for the season until mid-June. We went from Crowsnest Pass to the intersection of 40/541 where we headed east to civilization (ew) then continued up 40 west of Cochrane. We did bail east on 752, though, to start heading over to Edmonton as I was growing tired of the endless dust to make the drive to Nordegg worth it.

We, definitely, plan to return in later years as that entire area is just incredible. I spied a hidden lake and such with my drone from that first spot that I'm dying to access by foot. I'd also love to get up on Wildhorse Ridge, but we simply didn't have the time being at each place just overnight.
