Hey all!

What can we do to make the net more sucessful, and to get more participation?

Do we need to change to a monthy format, a different time or day?

What say you

Our specific problem (cant speak for others) is we don't always have the rig with us, since it's just used for trips. So many times we aren't able to get on the net. Otherwise if my rig with radio was in the driveway i would be on every time if i was home. I'd like to buy a handheld someday.

For me it is a fine time I try to hit it when I can. I appreciate all that you do and I will try to support the net with whatever you do with it.

Monthly might be better so we can build the hype and get more people to check in.
Of course I am up for whatever.

I'm just getting the hang of the PL tones and hitting the local repeaters...and trying to figure out this Western Reflector stuff...otherwise I'd be on 2x a month....:smilies27

I want to be there every time, but the last two weeks I've been in SW Colorado in areas that just weren't near any repeaters let alone IRLP ones. You can count on me for future participation though.

As far as ideas, I'm not sure. I hate to go to monthly because of lack of interest, that seems to almost admit defeat!

Perhaps we could do a format net once a month and then just a "meet and greet" informal chat for the 2nd net of the month.

I know that I've personally converted two local expo minded individuals here lately and I expect to see them joining soon.

The next net should definitely be Lance & Mike discuss their continental divide trip! Or whatever net date works best for them

I'm always on my local net on Tuesdays at the same time. Would love to check in but I am normal called on to give reports and aswer question. An idea for the summer might be to have a weekend check in so peaple can check in from the trail

While I think it would be great if we could check in from all the cool places we end up I have found it dificult with lots of codes to deal with and it might end up being a problem to find IRLP nodes that can be accessed...

The IRLP node that I used to use went MIA. And all the other IRLP nodes I can hit are on very active repeaters.

OK,

So, how does once a month on the first Sunday at 19:00 Mountain Standard Time work for everyone? (That converts to Monday at 02:00 AM UTC/GMT)

Here's a handy UTC/GMT converter:

http://www.worldtimeserver.com/convert_time_in_UTC.aspx

I have a feeling that it will be more difficult to get guest speakers to join us, but hopefully we'll be able to get more Expo members involved in the net.

I'll have to check to see if both my local repeater and the Western Reflector is available at that time.

Please give me some feed back on this folks!

I will try and make Sunday but it will be hit and miss. If you did first and third Sunday's or something there will be more opprotunities for me to make it. But I will try and be on the net whenever you do it. I have also really enjoyed the nets with special guests.
