thanks for all the input guys. Truck seems to run and shift fine and would be suitable I think for my purposes. But it is a single cab and coming from a crew cab not sure I can live with the lack of space. But who knows, its mainly just me most of the time, so it might work. But think I might keep looking a bit longer.

I'm running an '06 Chevy Duramax/Allison 2500 HD 4x4 with single cab. I like it. Bought it new and it's done well. Pulls a load like gangbusters and it's perfect for my old Apache Popup. Running 285-75-16 Toyo M-55. I did, however, install the Cognito Idler/Pitman arm kit. Well worth it.

I bought the single cab simply for the fact that I get a long bed with the shortest wheelbase for back country offroad camping. Since it's just the boss lady and I it works perfect. I don't have brand loyality (last truck was a '96 Ford F250 single cab 4x4) but I'd not hesitate to pick up another Chevy in the future.
