That is an impressive photo.

...however, I didn't know what the hell you were talking about until your last sentence mentioned BIRD. And what's the botanical name for the "thing" the male pyrrhuloxia is standing upon?

Haha, yeah, it is a weird name for a bird! ;-) It's standing on a dead cholla skeleton, just the woody support tissue really, not a true skeleton in the purest sense.

Curious, has anyone gotten any poison oak?

Both Brett and Myself got some on our legs. A very mild case and its almost gone already, nothing like before.
