Nice write-up and rig! I may be a 4runner guy but you have me drooling of all your new stuff. There's just something about getting a nice shiny new metal parts in the mail -then getting them dirty. Welcome to Expo -Marc

You can use VBScript for simple stuff, or use their COM API and do more complex stuff using C++, .NET, or any language that can bind to COM.

Really? COM? Is it an embedded system? I haven't written any COM interfaces in over 10 years. Seems like an outdated choice but I'll take a look around.

This is my weekend project to install. National Luna Portable Power Pack, LED backup lights, and my new stove.

I'm just now seeing this build:coffeedrink: Looks like quality parts on a good platform... can't go wrong with that. Nice build.

Thanks Marc. I think this week I am getting something new almost every other day. I've got the tent, fridge, battery, and some other stuff showing up this week. I can't wait to break it in.

Aluminess Rear Bumper and LED Backup Lights

On my past trips, I carried spare fuel on the roof rack. It worked, but I didn't care for the center-of-gravity change. I wanted to carry the fuel lower, but not in my shell. I also needed to relocate my spare tire so I could mount my OBA system. I needed an upgraded rear bumper.

My ARB bumper is great, but it is a lot of weight. I wanted something lighter. I saw one of the Aluminess bumpers in the 4WD Toyota Owner's magazine a year or so ago, and have wanted one ever since. The bumper is ~85 pounds. You can choose different options for the swingouts, such as the galley box. I was somewhat concerned about the durability of aluminum vs. steel. When I was in their shop, they showed me the same bumper from a Tacoma that had been rear-ended by a VW Touareg. The bumper showed slight damage (it looked like it was warped). They told me the Touareg dropped its engine :Wow1:.

I purchased the LED lights from Adventure Trailers and installed them this past weekend. They put out a good amount of light with very little amp draw. They are wired into the trailer backup wiring.

Adventure Trailers and Aluminess have been great companies to work with.

Aluminum LP Tank

I was going to go to the RV store and get 5lb steel tank to use with my new stove. However, I was in West Marine in Pt. Loma buying wiring stuff and came across this aluminum LP tank. I shouldn't have picked it up. It is super light, and it ended up coming home with me.

That's a really nice swing out setup. I've been researching a few different options myself as I'd like to the cans off the roof as well. Great truck you've built.

nice. Looking forward to see how you're planning to implement this w/your rear configuration. Dwarers? Platform? Modular? Choices choices...
