Coming back to a Jeep.

Been reading that YJ springs ride better than CJ springs.

They do but they are becoming somewhat rare; I used the I-6 YJ hard top rear springs, (extra leaf, 5 total if I recall correctly) in back on the '81 -5. Some 5s use narrower springs & frame mounts (require mount bending or wider rubber shackle end frame bushings). Some earlier 5s used shorter springs especially on the front if I recall correctly. Be sure to try them out well before relying on them for a long trip (I have come out of difficult trails on the bump stops after installing what I thought were YJ springs, might have been 4 cylinder ragtop springs or even front 4 cylinder (bought a local 4x4 shop's spring pile once).

I found that after a few years stock YJ springs become w shaped and need to be replaced if used hard; lockers, 456s, 33s or 35s, on trails like Pritchett canyon in Moab.

Enjoy!

Looks good. Make sure you take of your back. My buddy opted to go the pain med route for treatment as opposed to working at it to make his back stronger.

This had been the approach taken by the VA so far... I sleep too much, and need to get active again.
