We've all done a bunch of things and they seem to always be "works in progress"...
But here are a few things so far that will stick. I think.

Shelf over fridge with tie-downs:

Kitchen shelves. Top left is home to the grill for the fire, griddle, & frying pan. Under that is a tight-fitting cubby for the stove. And on the right is a larger hole that has two tupperware bins that hold the espresso pot, coffee, tea, poptarts, and other what-nots that are needed fast. Under the stove is the paper towel hanger that folds up to hold everything in:

Receiver under tongue; can mount a lunette ring, Max Coupler, or regular hitch. This evens out the whole affair too:

License plate on hinge; to get to the pole box:

Quick-Fist Mounts for real axe and shovel:
100_3652.jpg

LP tanks to the rear; reduce tongue weight; also got rid of the 7 year-old AT tires that had suspiciously dry sidewalls and mounted Mud Rovers:

Bedroom awning. Pole through the end, hole drilled at each end, telescopic WallyWorld poles held in place with bungeeballs:

And I've taken a blade to the bar and cutlery areas and hacked away at the foam. Paper plates and different pots, few cups, etc, etc.
A tweak here and a tweak there to make it more livable.

I will have to get pics later :)

but one thing I am going to do is armor up the front edge of the gas tank holders ! I had a piece of debris fly up and cut one of my scepter tanks !!!!!!!

so either the nets the OZ people do ? or some diamond plate and put it on the tubbing part ?

also had my nose cone get a good dent in it from a flying rock !!! so armor that in the front like the new ones ?

:sombrero: Yo HD, looking really good and using all that available space !!

I don't know what your noise tolerance is, but since I have the JK 4dr, with fully insulated interior (QUIET), I couldn't stand the noise generated by the Pintel/Lunnette, so I went to the Lock & Roll hitch, can't hear a thing-except when the 18 wheeler hits the trailer (just kidding)

Although, I carry a spare P/L set in my trailer, for "mishaps"

Oh, don't forget to cross the chains, California has a vehicle law just for that !!now isn't that strange ??

I've been thinking about what to put over vulnerable areas, Honu; I'm also thinking about the water tanks down under... ...maybe shielding them with a sheet of polycarbonate or something.

I emailed Adventure Trailers to order a Max Coupler, Jimbo; Martyn emailed me back from his road trip.
That's service...

yeah I have been looking at down below a bit myself ?

I wish I could weld ? guess I can learn :) but might be a while before I get good :) hehehehehe

one other mod I am going to do is to get more of a rear bumper I can walk all the way around on !

I forgot to list that I put rubber "diamond plate" anti-skid stuff on top of the fenders to stand on for tent packing.
I'm 6'5" and don't really need to stand on the bumper. It would be beneficial to have a rear recovery point though. Maybe a receiver or something... ...hmmmmm...

A man with a sawsall and no mission is a dangerous thing...

:sombrero: Heh Heh, yea HD, I'm still pretty close to 6'5" even in my old age and I'm able to handle any work on top the JK, using the sliders/rear tires and bumper

I forget who, but somebody sells a tire step, that drapes over your tire, another support !!

I think JC Whitney has it-

Thanks, Jimbo; at least you didn't tell me how light your trailer is.... :)

The Compact and Conquest have a nice step on the tire sides that we can easily stand on; they even have a nifty grab handle so we don't kill ourselves.
But the back and especially front areas are difficult to reach up to while deploying the tent. It would be nice if the thing had a big honkin' handle on the back side, sorta like a flip-pak has.

I am 5'6" and something to stand on the back would be awesome. havent come up with anything great yet.

the rear bumper with recovery or 2" receiver of course :)

not totally necessary but nice to have so when I walk around patting the tent down I dont have to jump when flaking the tent :)
and I am just shy of 6' but like things easy :)
6'5" might help but I cant weld those extensions on to me that easy :)

also on the rear besides moving the propane :)
make the stabilizing bars more solid ? they work but not the best thing out there !
I know the campa trailers use hilifts ? and had thought of doing that ?

I've been looking at hilifts and/or some sort of jackstand; haven't seen anything I like terribly much yet. Maybe some sort of half-scissor or something...

:sombrero: Ya might take a look at these jacks from Harbor Freight ($15), they have a weldable hub that you can lock the jack at horizontal (from verticle)

I got two and welded the caster on the one on the left, for convenient movement, it's just resting there, for the pic !!

I don't remember how much "lift" travel they have (it's in Nevada) and I ain't !

Good pics and upgrades! Did you also upgrade the tire size when you put on the new rubber?

For deploying and packing the tent, standing ontop of the fuel canister platform seems to work nicely. Although I have to agree, having something on the backside would be nice for a helper, etc. The frame will need a little love before any real recovery could be achieved, though.

I stayed with the same size tires; I didn't want the tent to have to stretch to reach the ground. I've never slammed the axle yet anyhow.

I stood on the gas can holder a couple of times; a little too jiggly for a big fat old guy...
:Wow1:

I've looked at those type of things, Jimbo; haven't found the right one yet. Most of them in stores around here aren't tall enough to be of use; ideally, we'll use them to help level the trailer on uneven ground as well as stabilize.

Hey, Bill:
Should I transfer some of my mods from my other thread to this one? Is this for a global Conqueror Mods thread?
