Cool ham radio study app for your Technician license

So I am back to studying my Gorden West Technician Class Element 2 Amateur Radio License Preparation book to get my license, and I decided to plug in on my Droid "Ham Radio" and I found a cool app I installed today from Amazons App Market, but the main Android Market has it too.
Amateur Radio Exams 1.0

I messed around with it at work and got most of the questions right out of about half of the 35 questions it pools you on before I had to leave work today.
Give the app a shot if you are studying for your test.

By the way, there is a newer Gorden West book out than mine, I wonder if it is worth the $20 to buy it since mine is older?

They change a certain percentage of the test questions every three or four years, to keep up to date with modern practice. Without the book for the current test, you risk possibly missing a few of the new questions, but the theory will still be the same. The on-line test questions are up-to-date, so if you can consistently pass those tests then you are golden.

Thanks 1911, I ordered the newer book a bit ago, will be here on Saturday.
I will pass on the older book, and maybe the newer one down the road.

Thanks, Tango.
Very easy to whip out the smart phone and fire up the app to review the info.
Much easier than carrying a book at work which may get lost or damaged.

Hi Corey-

Good app find! Here's another that I found in prep for my Technician's test last weekend, it has all the questions and randomly goes through the list. It will also give you a 'how many you've answered right'

I like it because you can select the level of questions as well. Had I thought about it I would have also studied for my General since I was able to take that test for free after my Tech test (I missed 16 of 35 on the General without studying at all, so I'm sure the app would have helped me get those extra 9 correct).

As a note, when you do go for your Tech test, see if they will let you take the General test immediately following...for me, it was free at that time, but will cost me extra $$ next time. Might as well open up some extra spectrum for you to use in the future and all it costs is time to study :)
