D1 Floor pan/boot repair!

So I'm going to have to tackling my rear floor pan as its rusted out.
Any tips or tricks that you can offer,for those of you that have done this.

What gauge of sheet metal should i be getting to repair the floor?
Was thinking 14g should do the trick. I did find a few good vids on youtube that was helpful .
