Till now the undisputed champ of the TDI pick-up trucks here in Indonesia was the D40 TDI Nissan Navara. Finally, in the last few weeks, Toyota has introduced its D-4D 3.0L Hilux which is selling for about US$4k less than the Navara. Although the Hilux still has a weaker engine, Nissan finally has competition...

i dont think is a competition here.. because the Vigo version that comes over here is the lowest standart spec.
the engine 3.0L is not incredible.. the Ford Ranger has the 3.0L as well.

yes is 4K difference..
steel wheels.. not leather.. no abs.. no EBD.. not HID light..
no competition..

toyota in indonesia will never be cheaper then any car in the same catagory

Listen, I like my Navara and it is likely that I wouldn't like the Hilux sold here as much. Nevertheless, let's not lose ourselves in blind brand loyalty. The fact of the matter is there is no place that the Hilux, despite its lower spec (and price!), won't take you that a Navara will.
