Well, I honestly haven't given that much thought really. I guess if I really needed to, I could just unmute the camera as it has a nice microphone and has awesome background noise cancellation. But as for leaving it on during an entire trip, I'm not sure I'd ever do that. I have three children: 8 1/2, 7 and 4 and the two oldest are girls (that should pretty much "splain" that right?).
With the Sony, I can ask the kids to quiet down for a couple of seconds so I can record some thoughts, and that's been working out pretty good so far. It naturally creates a new file each time I have something to say, which works out great for me. And it only has flash memory so I just off-load all the files onto the desktop when I return from the trip.
I think for the first year or so I'll just use the Sony Vegas Suite to add any separate audio files to the video track. I read a review that a guy wrote concerning the Vegas Suite and he said that it took about a year before he was really good at it. And since I've never really had any experience with video until now, I'm sure it will be beneficial to take plenty of time learning the ins and outs of the video stuff.

Oh yeah... The Lind was shipped out this morning so I should receive it early next week. I didn't get the dual output after all. The printer cord is hard wired into the adapter and I don't want to have to keep it folded up and zip tied to something.
