Enough sidetracking everyone...back on track for the trip.


I installed an Odyssey 1700 battery this weekend! Yeah baby, yeah! (thanks wil!)
This should be able to let the fridge run ALL weekend without dying like my opti-crap did at Pismo. (which is now sitting in my neighbors corvair powered sandrail)

for those coming to Diaz Lake - the county camping park is located on the left side of the road heading north on 395 just before you get into Lone Pine - there will be a small sign ( on the left)

We will be camping in the back left corner around the lake - the campground is a very casual place ( read funky) I doubt very much there will be many people there - no reservations are needed.

Yeah, but it doesn't always feel like the actual temperature........ current conditions in Lone Pine at 7am: 28F feels like 22F

Where can I get those 12v blankets?

Looks like Mazourka Peak has an open repeater:
146.760- PL: 100.0

Those at the fire at camp Th night might want to have one radio tuned to it. I plan to program it and try to make contact on the way up.

Any other useful repeaters for this trip?

Up here in Lone Pine wifi in the comfort inn parking lot met KC, BajaXplorer, and Al

I will check into the repeater and have the radio on - the diaz lake park backs up to the mnts
