A couple years ago a guy on Pirate installed a Cummins in a GMT400 3/4 ton Suburban.
He kept the IFS in front and found motor mounts and a 4L80E trans adapter.
It was a pretty detailed thread, I can try to find it over there and provide a link if you would like.

Got a supplier for the engine-transmission kit and the motor mount changeover. Seems like the most common swap is to install a Cummins in place of a Power Stroke, but apparently putting a Cummins in a GM is also fairly popular.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of fuel mileage this will get.

I think the Suburban the guy did on Pirate was reporting 20-21 MPG highway.
The thread is authored by TimZR2 and its a 95 Suburban K2500 with a Cummins listed in the build threads by years of vehicles.

I could add a Gear Vendors or similar overdrive unit back of the transfer case to get even better mileage. This truck has 4.88 rear ends...

The pan is off, and there are no large pieces of metal lying about. We'll see how the main bearings look.
Also sent the valve covers over to be powder-coated.

Pics of Cummins and powder-coated valve covers (bright red!!) coming tomorrow.
I KNOW you're excited, but try to get some sleep tonight...
