I’m curious if anyone here has tried to do a diy 270 awning with pvc instead of metal? I’ve found some good diy videos on YouTube of people doing this with steel and poly tarps, but I’m not sure why schedule 40 that is 1-1.25” thick wouldn’t work? Obviously it would have more flex than steel, but it seems like it would still be strong enough and definitely lighter weight. I suppose it would all depend on how it was anchored to the vehicle.
