G’day Gents,
I’ve seen many ads for seventeen inch rims for NPS Isuzu trucks. When I had my wheels custom made twenty years ago, for an NPS 300 1996, the seventeen inch rims wouldn’t fit over the brake drums— or so I was led to believe by the bloke making the wheels.
What’s changed? I’ve just split another rim, for the second time, and I could be persuaded to go the full monty with 5 rims and tyres.
My question, therefore, is how do the seventeen inch rims fit over the brake drums now, and didn’t then? Are they a different shape now? They’d need a certain depth in the well of the rim to get the tubeless tyre on, wouldn’t they?
All suggestions are welcome.
