This ones got me scratching my head as the template is for a different fender... so it's measure about 10,000 times and cut once for me...

When I'm done it should be a good install, taking lots of pics as I go of course!

I love garage time!

Making that cut was the most "bubble gut" inducing part of the snorkel install on my truck...and there was no retrofitting for mine. It'll be nice to see the finished product.

Perfect timing Dave.
I did a couple passes through the creek in your avatar this week.
It's a fair bit deeper after the rains we had.
Time to get back out there! :snorkel:

ps- A little birdie told me you might have an extra spare tire cluttering up the garage?

Powder coating and fender holes...

TACODOC,
The rear bumper came out looking great with powder coating on it.

I'm suprised that you are nervous after already chopping off some sheetmetal in the rear. All I can say is that there's no turning back now!

Cheers ,

Doc, you'll love the benefit of the snorkel, so much more security and peace of mind for the engines safety when traversing through deep water, that and getting bit more fresh air for the engine when going down dusty trails or behind someone........snorkel's are popular as here in OZ, Im surprised they dont seem to be so popular there in the US ?

great find there Doc - it would sit very nice and neatly.....you just gave me anoither idea for my hilux.....LOL

Im not too happy about the spare wheel sitting 65mm lower, but if you had the rear wheel carrier as you do, this would be ideal.

I might call them tomorrow and ask how much it'd cost, if I remember, Ill ask if they know if it fits a Taco, thou I wouldnt hold my breath on them knowing.

average price here in OZ for an auxiliary tank is usually between 550bux to 1000 bux depending on make and model.:26_7_2:

Hey 'Doc,

By the way, why dont you try out the following forum aswell,

www.newhilux.net

its australian based and has members from around the world that own the new model hilux's, great source of information if you were considering parts and accessories that might crossover between hilux and Taco.

Has anyone seen pics of this mounted on a new Hilux?

Maybe it could work on the Tacoma since the spare mounts under the bed the same way.

That is awesome... Just by looking at it, I am certain it can be used on a Taco. I am sure there may have to be some brackets moved around, but that is the easy part. I also like the way it works, although im not completely sure how that is, it sounds very simple. 70 more liters would be awesome... Hilux, please find out a price for it!
