Dont drop your RTT...pics

My B-Day is this week and i have been dying to get the chance to spend the night in my new to me RTT. It looks like next weekend i may have a break in the weather so i thought i'd install it.

A buddy and i went to install it yesterday, as we were lifting it and turning he twisted his wrist and dropped it.

I'm hoping i can fix this, or perhaps Mike S can get me the part i need. Anyway, be carefull with your RTT.

Spare parts fro OverLand

John,

I have some parts in stock, and I'll see if I have what you need. Just one, right? or is the upper damaged as well?

If not in stock, I will order for you. Try bending the old damaged part back up so it will not interfere with opening, and run a couple of small sheetmetal screws in to hold it in place. meanwhile, I'll see what I can do.

If you don't have anything in stock drop me an e mail at martyn@adventuretrailers.com, I'll be down at the shop tomorrow and I'll be able to see if there is any of that channel hanging around.

I must say this is why I love this forum! Someone needs help with something, and other wise completely random people offer great assistance, being willing to scrounge around for spare parts or offer advice (I'm assuming that people don't know each other personally, which is the case a lot of the time at least). So thank you all for being great people!!!!!!!!!

I've met Mike S and we have a business relationship, Mike also recommended some good books to read.

I like John B's avatar of the car stacked with luggage on the roof.

That's all it takes, I'm easy.

Mike, yes just the lower was damaged.

I took a closer look at it today, it's a tad more work than i had first thought to remove it...it's well secured.

This is the 1.8 model, if one of you guys have a replacement piece i'd be happy to purchase, might as well do it right.

Thank You Gents. :wavey:

If I don't have it, and Martyn doesn't have it, I can get it for you. May take some time, tho'.

I should know soon.

Mike, if you or Martyn dont have one stateside i'll attempt to fix it. If you have to import one let me know via PM with my cost. I'll most certainly order it but would like to have the RTT usable in the meantime.

Appreciate the efforts. :clapsmile

Do you want me to send you the upper and lower moldings?

The ones I have are not perfect, but they are better than what you have and can either be used as replacements or to effect a 99% repair.

Cheers.

Just the lower Martyn. The upper saw no damage.

Thanks again.
