Don't Forget To Keep Your Hi-Lift In Shape!

I have both a HF and a Hi-Lift brand jack and I can say I really do prefer the Hi-Lift. It is built stronger, and to closer specifications, and has easily replaceable parts. And while I have not tried yet to see if all the accessories from the Hi-Lift kits will fit the HF I believe that not all of them will.

There are a few things that Bill Burke recommends for "cleaning" of a new Hi-Lift to make them safer and work better. Here is his video.

I have been meaning to build an adapter so that the handle on the HF can be removed. That is a advantage of the Hi-Lift brand, one can remove the handle to use it for a breaker bar on ratchets and wrenches.... or to sleeve a broken steering/suspension component.

When I moved to New Orleans I left my Hi-lift at home and use my Land Rover bottle jack and if I need it I have a hi-lift base. I may take it with me this trip around for the poser look though... or if I need to beat someone in the head with it.
